Hundred Boards are a great way for children to develop mathematical knowledge and skills. These boards also have a "working space" at the bottom of the board for students to communicate mathematical thinking and reasoning.
When presented with an equation like 43 + 25, students could circle the starting point of 43 and then count down two rows (each row is 10 numbers) to get to 63 and count on five to 68. With an equation like 23 + 39, students could learn to develop more efficient strategies for regrouping by counting down four rows to 63 and counting back one (40 - 1 = 39) to 62.
Included in this PDF file is a set of 5 different coloured boards and a blackline master. Add this file to your cart to print as many of any of the boards as you need for your own classroom. Laminate these boards for use with a wipe-off marker - again and again.
This file is for the "BOLD Font" set of boards. We also have different fonts in store.
Teaching Tip: Use the different colours for classroom organisation - have all the blue fonts work together, etc.
